El Castellar
Location: at the port.
Main points: This is an excellent viewpoint, with views of the whole of the bay of Llançà from practically all of it.
El Castellar is a viewpoint overlooking some fine panoramic views. It was formerly an island in the port of Llançà, now connected to the land by a causeway which is used for parking and for the marina facilities. Its name suggests the possible existence of a mediaeval fortification, castle or watchtower, though recent finds of early iron age pottery indicate that it may be older.
